Beyond the Query is a practical, next-step reporting course for iMIS users who already know how to write queries and are ready to think more strategically about how their data is presented and used.
This session focuses on two areas: Reporting and Vibe Coding.
On the reporting side, we will explore the tools available in iMIS—dashboards, Business Objects, and Report Writer—and how to choose the right one for the job. Participants will learn how to plan effective dashboards, understand which iParts add the most value for users, recognize when a custom Business Object is needed, and get started building simple, purposeful reports. The emphasis throughout is on decision-making, usability, and reuse, helping you move beyond simply retrieving data to delivering insights that support real action.
Participants will also be introduced to the basics of vibe coding. What is it? What tools do you need? And how do you communicate effectively with AI tools to get the results you’re looking for? This portion of the session will provide a practical introduction to using AI as a collaborative partner when building reports, writing code, and solving technical problems.
